6 Months Old!

I can't believe where the time has gone! Mason turned 6 months on Sunday and he is growing so fast! He weighs 19lbs and is 27 inches long.

He is sitting up on his own

Has found his toes

Sits up in his high chair at restaurants and at home and loves eating solids, especially peaches and sweet potatoes!

is always full of smiles

He has started figuring out how to roll to get where he wants to go. He also is trying to figure out the crawling thing, but still has to decide what to do with his arms!

We love our little man

and he is lots of fun!

Mason Belly Laughs Again

I can't believe it's been almost a month since we last posted something to the blog, this spring has flown by! We are going to Cabo San Lucas for a friend's wedding and Mason is staying at home in Houston while Grammi and Grampi Thomas fly down to split time with Mema and Papa Laughlin. We are starting to feel like we are going to miss him and we're not even gone yet. We are planning to post pics and videos of both the trip and Mason when we get back. In the mean time, we finally were able to get Mason to go into full belly laugh mode this evening. If you'll recall, the first and only other time we've seen this happen was while we were in El Paso and Lorene got him hee-hawwing. Here's a clip of the latest.

Five Months Old!

Mason turned 5 months old yesterday and is getting so big! He weighed 17lbs 2oz earlier this week!

He is now actively rolling over both ways and getting better at sitting up on his own. Unfortunately, Mason got his first cold this week, but is still constantly smiling even though he felt bad. We started him on veggies and he loves carrots and sweet potatoes so far. Let's hope he keeps up his love of veggies! Mason loves to jabber and talk in his own language and chews on everything in site. Dr. Barer said we will probably start seeing teeth soon.

Mason is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Easter bunny tomorrow! Hello Spring!

Working from home on a Friday...

I was supposed to be working from home this afternoon so that our nanny could go to a parent/teacher meeting, but my adorable, little man decided he would entertain me during my conference call instead. I had to put the phone on mute so that the room of people did not hear Mason bouncing away to his hearts content! I decided the conference call was not exciting enough and taking a video of Mason was more important at the time! He LOVES jumping!

Swim lessons

Mason had his first swim lesson last week. Mason and Hudson both had a good time and really seemed comfortable in the water! We are going for lesson number two tomorrow!

Mason had his 4 month check up last Monday and he weighed in at 16lbs 3oz! He had a couple of new firsts this week. We started on cereal on Wednesday and he rolled over from his back to his tummy for the first time! Papa L. got to see him roll over first on Thursday, but he kept it a secret until Mommy saw it on Friday morning. Now, he will not stay on his back for more than a minute before he rolls over. It's amazing how once they learn something, they are almost a pro at it overnight. We'll try to get a video posted of that soon. He still doesn't roll from his tummy to his back, but that shouldn't be too far away.

Here are some pics from this past week.

Mason is 4 months old!

Time keeps flying by and Mason is now 4 months. He can now firmly grasp on to objects and move them around. He loves pulling mommy's hair as well! He likes his jumperoo and wants to always be sitting up or standing. Mason loves to swing outside (thanks Papa!) and get some fresh air now that it has started to warm up. He's getting more hair on top.

Here are some of his 4 month pictures we had done yesterday.

Mason is also finally starting to have a resemblance to me but still has a lot of Justin.

He starts swimming lessons today and goes to the doctor on Monday for his checkup (and shots- yuck!) so I will post more pictures as well as his height and weight soon.

We attempted to go to Justin's softball game and even got dressed for the occasion, but I think it was too cool outside for him and we had our first public meltdown. If it took four months to have a meltdown with all the places I have taken him, I feel very lucky. He is such an easy going kid (definitely did not get that from me!). Here is a picture of Mason in his baseball gear ready to go!

Punk Rock Style!

Mason has finally started growing hair on the top of his head. Every night after his bath, we slather him up with lotion and keep giving him different hair styles for fun. Tonight was the mohawk! Only a few more days and he will be 4 months old.
